Bihyal

A river that runs by the city on the eastern side, flowing south to northeast from the mountains to the coast. During the rainy season it swells and floods its banks, becoming a hideously dangerous waterway, but during the hot summer that precedes the monsoon, it is narrow about 220 feet across at the widest point, barely allowing most boats passage down or upriver. During the growing season and winter, when crops are harvested, the river reduces to its normal size of about an eighth of a mile across at its widest point.
